About Us

Originally “springing” from a Frontenac fishing lodge with a few “rustic” cabins, Springwood is now a cottage resort with 17 fully equipped cottages, and a Bunkie, nestled on the banks of Kennebec Lake and surrounded by mature trees and gorgeous views. Over the years, improvements have been made to update the cottages without loosing its essence as a place to connect with nature. The property maintains it original landscape, with many mature trees.

Kennebec Lake is fed by freshwater springs and a few creeks resulting in it being one of the cleanest lakes in Ontario. It is over 13 kilometers long and only about 0.5 kilometers wide on average. It is divided into two main basins by the Henderson Road bridge. The deepest basin reaches a depth of over 30 meters and the lake averages a depth of about 10 meters. Much of the shoreline is still crown land resulting in spectacular views of untouched land. The lake hosts a healthy population of fish including walleye / pickerel, northern pike, small and large mouth bass as well as a large variety of pan fish. The lake has a few islands adding to its picturesque nature. The lake drains into the Salmon River which then makes its way to Lake Ontario.

With new owners in 2021, the Springwood story continues to evolve, but not losing touch with its history and raison d’etre. Offering a place for families to escape the routines of day-to-day life, a chance to reconnect with nature, unwind and relax, or experience what the Land O'Lakes region has to offer for the first time. While we encourage you to disconnect unplug from the outside world, enjoy all that nature has to offer and spend quality time with family and friends.
