All Season – All Play
At Springwood, every season is “in season” and offers a unique experience.
Summer
Your quintessential Canadian Cottage experience awaits. Imagine long, lazy summer days hanging out at the beach or on your dock, enjoying a variety of water toys, playing outdoor games, hiking, fishing, boating and more. Then bonding with loved ones over meals cooked on the BBQ, catching the sunset from the docks and finishing up the evening by the campfire. Summers at Springwood are stoked in tradition for many families and each week is unique, but also share common traits, including families reconnecting, friendly neighbours with a sense of camaraderie, adults kicking back and leaving their stresses in the city, children exploring nature and experiencing a slower pace/simpler lifestyle and teens having some good clean fun. What more could one ask for?
FAll
Looking for a quieter get-away, once children have returned to school, where you can enjoy the last remnants of warm weather before winter’s chill sets in. This is the perfect spot to appreciate Mother Nature’s most impressive artwork as she paints the area in a stunning canvas of reds, oranges, yellows, greens and browns. Pull out your warm socks and coffee as you enjoy the brisker mornings with mist covering the lake’s surface. Before you know it, you are shedding the extra layers of clothes as you explore the nearby trails and maybe even taking a dip in the lake to cool off as the sun brings its warmth into the afternoon. Evening sunsets over the lake seem to be at their peak and lead right into bug free evening by the campfire. Pure perfection!
Winter
Leave the city traffic jams and work deadlines behind and settle into your winter cottage haven. With only half of the resort open to guests, winters serenity is abound at Springwood, where guests can wake up to a thick white blanket of snow covering the ground and tree tops, muffling the sounds of everything except bird calls. After a leisurely breakfast, venture outside and play in this winter wonderland – crokicurl, skating, snowshoeing, snowman making all await those who want to get their heart rate up or spend your days ice fishing for the perfect catch. Once you’ve had your fill, head back inside to warm up with a boardgame or book and venture back out for a winter campfire or hot tub as the sun sets in the background before settling in for the night.
